Went to Otaru today-very pretty little port. Although still weird things to see

 

Interesting shops and food in Otaru Denuki-Koji and you can have a rickshaw trip round town

 

Then we saw a group of Japanese people in yukatas – must have been on a tour

Lovely canals and boat rides

Otaru is famous for the quality of its sushi

A shop specialising in Ainu goods – the original indigenous people of Hokkaido

 

And its ice cream-couldn’t resist the seven layer one

 

Then a visit to the musical box museum – some exhibits were really scary
