Got the tender from ship to Ishigaki then got the ferry from Ishigaki to Taketome, then a bus to the village. Weather glorious. Went to traditional Ryukyun village inhabited by 342 people and about as many bullocks.  Lovely little traditional one storey houses with gardens full of bougainvillea and banana plants.

Lots of water buffalo – ours was Tomi and he was 20, and potty trained!

Then a delicious purple sweet potato ice cream
