Early start ~ up at 5 to meet our private taxi at 6am to take us to Muthurajawela wetlands for a boat trip along the Dutch canal and Negombo lagoon.

Lovely and peaceful at this time of the morning 

The only other sound apart from birdsong was the breadman’s tuktuk chimes delivering to houses alongside the canal

Lots of birds

Jellyfish – non stinging obviously

And some huge 2 meter water monitors (edible) and land monitors (inedible)

 

And baby marsh crocodiles (edible)

 

An open air Catholic Church right in the lagoon

 

Then a much needed king coconut drink

 

An Uber tuktuk 😀
