Kushiro marshlands and crane park

Kushiro is known for being misty – they recently had 100 consecutive foggy days. But we’ve been lucky with glorious weather today with a walk along the boardwalk in the marshland national park then onto the crane park.

Cranes were down to 10 early last century but the crane park breeding program and preservation of habitat in marshlands park has ensured their future. But only one baby crane this year in the crane park.
