Tokyo part 2

Leaving Ueno we jumped back on the train and headed to Yanaka – a taste of old Tokyo. Peeped into a Pachinko parlour

Yanaka has some lovely small cafes and shops

Couldn’t resist buying a little Japanese book from one – not idea what it’s about but it’s just so pretty and of course you read it back to front

Had a look in the estate agent’s – rooms still measured in tatami mats. 1000 yen is about £7. These are in millions of yen so do the math 😊

Then heading to the station some more temples and shrines

In one of them was a 600 year old tree

Is it weird going round graveyards on holiday?

Then headed back to station to catch train to Rikugien gardens and spotted two ladies in yukatas
