Mito for Kairakuen

Very belated post from our last day in Japan when we got the train east to Mito to go to Kairakuen- another of Japan’s 3 great gardens. Then got the local bus to the gardens. Quite interesting getting bus info from 2 non+English speaking Japanese ladies 🙂 They were trying to be so helpful that it took about 20 minutes to get away from them 😉

But we got there. Lovely gardens – so popular in spring that it has its own ‘temporary’ railway station that’s only open during the plum blossom season in February and March + there are over 3000 plum trees in th gardens.
